Wrinkle Neck Mules

The Mules are coming to the ATL!

Posted on April 27, 2012

That’s right ladies and gentlemen!  After several years away from our fair city, the boys are returning to entertain the masses!  Thursday, May 24th at the Earl.  They will be joined by our dear friends Ocha la Rocha and American Anodyne.  Do not miss this!  Who knows when they will be back again!  Doors are at 8:30.  Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.  You can get tickets through Ticket Alternative here.

The Mules and a Gecko…

If you haven’t heard, Geico has put their famous gecko on a tour around America.  As luck would have it, he found himself in Texas where he does a little line dancing to the new Wrinkle Neck Mules song, “Central Daylight Time”.  If you haven’t seen the commercial, we’ve uploaded it here.  The track will be released as a single soon and will definitely be included on the new album due out in February 2012.  More details to come on the album and such so, stay tuned.

News of the week…

Its been a while…we know.  We know.  Loads have been happening, we assure you.  Hence our lack of communication.   But we bring you news of things wonderful and exciting from the ATL.

If you haven’t heard, Butch Walker and the Black Widows are gearing up for the road.  And our dear Chris Unck will be reprising his role as a Black Widow.  Showing off his auxiliary skills on lap steel, tambourine, rhythm guitar, and whatever else he digs up.  We will be in Athens with the band, loving every minute of it.

New Wrinkle Neck Mules videos seem to be popping up left and right from their shows in NC and VA.  Thank you to all of you for sending them out.  We have laughed, cried, and jammed while watching them.  We will post more of those soon.

And for all of you that are waiting, patiently, for this new Night Driving record, you bet your sweet a*# that its going to rock your world.  We will be posting artwork soon.  The album will be out on April 20.  So mark your calendar.  And get ready, Atlanta, for a cd release show that will not soon be forgotten.  Until then, enjoy this picture from a recent photo shoot with the wonderful Dave Batterman.  More will be arriving soon!!!!!!  Or you can just check them out at Batterman Photography.  Good stuff kids.

Thanks to American Songwriter!

The fine folks over at American Songwriter have given our dear Mules “Let the Lead Fly” a wonderful review.  They also  featured one of the lead singers, Chase Heard, as a Writer of the Week.  Read the review and Chase’s interview over on their site.  And thanks again to American Songwriter!  We agree that the album deserves to be on the Best Of list for 2009.

Wrinkle Neck Mules new tees have arrived!!

You guys have been ever so patient, once again, and they are finally here!  Four different styles with a new graphic.  Check ‘em out.  If you have pre-ordered, they are shipping today.  If you have ordered them yet, head over to Wrinkle Neck Mules store and snag one or 4.  Whatever.  Thanks again the patient fans!!!!  Your wonderfulness does not go unnoticed.

Interviews, giveaways, and reviews…oh my!!

Wrinkle Neck Mules seem to be all over the place these days, talking Let the Lead Fly and various other things.  We are going to do our best to post reviews, interviews, podcasts, giveaways, etc. from various places for you guys to get in on.  First up, an interview with AmericanaRoots.com that Andy, one of the lead singers of Wrinkle Neck Mules, did that is pretty entertaining.  If you want to hear about whacked out hunting trips and airbags blowing up, you should take a listen.  You can stream it here or grab it off Itunes here.  If you aren’t a follower of AmericanaRoots.com, you are missing out.  These guys are one of the leaders in alt-country, bluegrass, etc. news.  They team up with NoDepression.com to do the Americana Spotlight each week and its always topnotch.  Take a listen to the interview and don’t forget to visit AmericanaRoots.com

Let the Lead Fly is hitting the trails to those of you who have already pre-ordered or ordered the album.  For those of you who pre-ordered, we are sending you a little treat to say THANKS!!  Its not anything huge, but we wanted you to know that we were thankful for your support of the Mules and your patience is appreciated.  This album has been a journey since it started but, its been worth it.  The “lead-ed” versions are rad and we are looking forward to giving those away to folks who weren’t as fortunate to get them in the pre-order stage.
